Champion teachers in the pool!

Did you know you could have a swimming champion teaching your child?

Our swimming teachers live, breath, and excel at swimming, and this is very much the case at Purruna.

Instructor, Taylor Corry, is soon to represent Australia at the 2025 Virtus Swimming Championships in Bangkok. Her skill speaks for itself: at 30, she’s been at the top of S14 world rankings for nearly 15 years and holds more Australian titles than any swimmer in history. Her experience spans Paralympic Games, World Championships, and Global Games.

Taylor shares, “It’s always an honour to represent Australia, and the upcoming Virtus World Championships has a special place in my heart. In the latest Brisbane heats, I swam some of the fastest times I’ve been able to achieve in almost ten years, so I am excited to go to the Bangkok competitions and see what I can do over there.

Taylor will be joined by fellow Purruna coach Simon Watkins, also named to the national team. A long-time supporter and coach, Simon was full of praise: “Taylor’s performances at National Opens have been excellent and there’s more to come! It is a great honour for us to be selected to represent Australia at Virtus, and we are both excited to be heading there.

We’ll stay tuned to see Taylor’s performance at the championships and which her and Simon all the best!
